Who Plays Dwight On Walking Dead

Hey there, Walking Dead fans! Ever wondered who's behind that iconic mustache and those piercing blue eyes of Dwight? Let's dive in and find out! Grab your favorite snack and let's chat about this awesome actor.

Meet Austin Amelio

Alright, so you might not recognize him by his real name just yet, but stick around, 'cause we're about to make you an honorary Dwight expert!

From New Orleans to the Apocalypse

Born and raised in New Orleans, Austin Amelio is a guy who knows how to have a good time. I mean, come on, he's from the Big Easy! But when it comes to acting, he's all business. He's been in the game since the early 2000s, but it was his role as Dwight that really got him noticed.

Fun fact: Before he was a zombie-slaying badass, Austin was a bartender. Can you imagine ordering a drink from Dwight? I bet it'd be one heck of a story to tell!

How Dwight Was Born

So, how did our favorite crossbow-wielding Saviors leader come to life? Well, it all started with a simple audition. Austin walked into that room and boom – Dwight was born. He even grew out that epic mustache just for the role!

And get this: Austin didn't even read the comics before he auditioned! He wanted to bring his own interpretation to the character. Talk about a risk that paid off big time!

Life as Dwight

Playing Dwight hasn't been all fun and games for Austin. I mean, have you seen some of the stuff that character goes through? Yikes! But he's taken it all in stride, giving us some truly memorable moments on screen.

One of my personal favorites? When Dwight finally gets to wear Negan's bat, Lucille. Talk about a long time coming! Austin totally nailed that scene, and I think we can all agree that Dwight looked pretty darn good holding that bat.

Austin Amelio: The Man Behind the Mustache

When he's not busy saving the world from walkers, Austin is a total family guy. He's got a beautiful wife and two adorable kids. And get this – he's even got a twin brother! Can you imagine having a twin who looks just like you? Talk about some serious sibling bonding!
