When I Take A Bath I Think About The Lord

Hey there, ever found yourself mid-bubble bath, suddenly pondering the big man upstairs? No? Just me? Well, buckle up, friend, 'cause we're about to dive into the bubbly, sudsy world of bath-time theology. Grab your towel, let's get started!

Bath Time: The Original Thinking Spot

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those people who spends hours in the tub, singing show tunes and eating bonbons. No, no, no. I'm in, I'm out, like a well-rehearsed dance routine. But even in my quickie baths, my mind wanders. And where does it like to wander most? To the great beyond, of course!

I mean, think about it. You're all warm and cozy, the world outside is a distant hum, and suddenly, you're contemplating the meaning of life, the universe, and everything. It's like the bath is this tiny, steamy portal to the cosmos. Or maybe it's just the lack of oxygen making me loopy. Either way, it's a thinking spot, and I'm sticking to it!

Bath Time Theology 101

So, what exactly does one think about when they're thinking about the Lord in the bath? Well, it's not all harps and halos, I'll tell you that much. Sometimes, it's just random questions. Like, "If God made the world, who made God?" Or, "Why are there so many different religions? Did God have a meeting and say, 'You take Asia, I'll take Europe'?"

Other times, it's more existential. Like, "What happens after we die?" Or, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" And then, because I'm nothing if not consistent, I'll follow that up with, "And why, oh why, did I eat that third slice of pizza last night?"

But it's not all heavy stuff. Sometimes, I just think about the really important things. Like, "What would Jesus do if he found out I'd used his name in vain to describe my ex's new haircut?" Or, "Would Moses have been a better leader if he'd had a smartphone?" You know, the big questions.

Bath Time Bible Study

Now, I'm not saying I'm the only one who does this. I like to think I'm part of a long, soapy tradition. I mean, think about it. Where else can you find some quiet time to reflect, read a few verses, maybe even sing a hymn or two? Okay, maybe the singing is a bit much, but you get the idea!

And sure, you could do all this in a quiet room, but where's the fun in that? The bath is like nature's meditation pod. It's warm, it's cozy, it's got built-in bubbles for added relaxation. Plus, it's a great excuse to avoid doing the dishes. "Sorry, honey, I'm having a spiritual moment in the tub. Can you pass the soap?"

Bath Time Blessings

So, there you have it. My little secret. My bath-time theology. It might seem a bit odd, but hey, to each their own. Maybe you're a shower person, or maybe you prefer a good old-fashioned foot soak. Whatever floats your boat (literally).

But next time you're in the tub, give it a try. See where your mind takes you. And who knows? You might just find some answers. Or at least a good laugh. And at the end of the day, isn't that what life's all about? Finding a little joy, a little peace, and maybe, just maybe, a little understanding. Even if it's in the bathtub.

So, here's to the thinkers, the dreamers, the bath-time theologians. May your bubbles never pop, your water never get cold, and may you always find the answers you're looking for. Even if they're just around the corner, in the next chapter, or maybe, just maybe, in the next bath.
