Only As Old As The Woman You Feel

Feeling Your Age? Think Again!

So, I was chatting with my friend Sarah the other day, right? She's been stressing about her upcoming birthday. "I'm turning 30, and I feel like I should have it all together by now," she sighed. I mean, come on, who made that rule? I told her, "Girl, you're only as old as the woman you feel, so let's make that woman fabulous!"

Age is Just a Number, Right?

I mean, think about it. We've all met those people who seem to have this timeless energy, you know? They're not stuck in their ways, they're up for trying new things, and they just glow with this youthful vibe. On the flip side, we've also met people who act like they're 90 when they're actually 40. So, what gives?

Here's the thing, it's all in our heads. Our mindset plays a huge role in how we perceive our age and how we let it affect us. So, if you're feeling like you're stuck in a time warp, it might be time to shake things up a bit.

Out with the Old, In with the New

Now, I'm not saying you should go out and buy a sports car or start using words like "YOLO" (please, let's not). But consider this: when was the last time you tried something new? Something that scared you a little, but also excited you?

I started taking dance classes last year. I mean, I'm not the next Misty Copeland, but I'm having a blast! And you know what? I feel like I've got this new energy, this vitality, that I didn't have before. It's like I've found this secret fountain of youth, and it's not in a bottle or a cream, it's in a dance studio!

It's All About Perspective

Another thing to consider is our perspective on aging. We live in a society that's obsessed with youth, right? But think about it, isn't it kind of beautiful to grow older? To gain wisdom, to have experiences, to live?

Groucho Marx Quote: “A man’s only as old as the woman he feels.”Groucho Marx Quote: “A man’s only as old as the woman he feels.”

I mean, sure, there are those pesky wrinkles and gray hairs, but there's also this incredible sense of self that comes with age. You know what you want, you know what you don't, and you're not afraid to speak your mind. That's pretty powerful, don't you think?

So, How Old Are You?

Back to Sarah. After our chat, she started looking at her upcoming birthday as a celebration, not a dreaded milestone. She's planning a big party, and she's even started learning to paint. She's not trying to be 20 again, she's just trying to be the best version of herself at 30.

So, the next time you catch yourself feeling old, ask yourself: "How old am I, really?" And then, go out and be that age, whatever it is. Because, my friend, you're only as old as the woman you feel. And I, for one, choose to feel fabulous.
