Miami Hurricanes Football Players In The Nfl

So, there I was, flipping through channels the other day, and I stumble upon this NFL game. I'm not even paying much attention, just got the TV on for some background noise, you know? Then, all of a sudden, this guy makes this insane tackle, and the announcer's like, "That's Miami Hurricanes alumni, Shaq Lawson!" I sat up straight, like, "Whoa, really? Let's talk about this!"

Miami Hurricanes in the NFL: A Force to Be Reckoned With

Now, I'm no stranger to college football, but I've always been curious about how many Miami Hurricanes make it big in the NFL. Turns out, there's a whole bunch of them! And they're not just making it, they're making an impact. So, let's dive in, shall we?

Quarterback Extraordinaire: Ken Dorsey

You can't talk about Miami Hurricanes in the NFL without mentioning Ken Dorsey. This guy was the starting QB for the Hurricanes from 1999 to 2002, and he's still got the record for most wins by a QB in NCAA history. He might not have been a first-round draft pick, but he sure proved everyone wrong. He played in the NFL for a decade, even winning a Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2007. Not bad, huh?

Defensive Powerhouses

But it's not just the QBs making waves in the NFL. The Hurricanes have produced some seriously tough defenders. Take Ed Reed, for instance. This guy's a legend. He played safety for the Hurricanes from 2001 to 2004, then went on to have an incredible career in the NFL. He's a nine-time Pro Bowler, an eight-time All-Pro, and even won a Super Bowl with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013. And let's not forget Vince Wilfork. This guy's a mountain of a man, and he was a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line for both the Hurricanes and the New England Patriots.

Recent Stars

And it's not just the old-timers making a name for themselves. The Hurricanes have been sending some serious talent to the NFL in recent years. Remember Safeties Sheldrick Redwine and Jaquan Johnson? They were both drafted in 2019 and have been making waves in the NFL ever since. And let's not forget Wide Receiver Dee Wiggins. This guy's a deep threat, and he's been causing trouble for defenses in the NFL since he was drafted in 2021.

So, there you have it. The Miami Hurricanes might not be the first team you think of when you're talking about college football powerhouses, but they've definitely got a presence in the NFL. And with the talent they've been sending to the league in recent years, I wouldn't be surprised if we see even more Hurricanes making a name for themselves in the NFL in the years to come.
