Is Toby Dead On This Is Us

So, there I was, munching on my popcorn, settled in for a good ol' cry-fest with my favorite Pearson family. I mean, let's face it, This Is Us is like a rollercoaster of emotions, right? You never know if you're gonna laugh, cry, or reach for the nearest tissue.

Now, I've been binge-watching this show like it's my job (well, it is my job, but you get the gist), and I've noticed something. Toby, our lovable, slightly neurotic, sometimes cringe-worthy Toby, has been MIA for a while now. And I'm not just talking about his absence from our screens. I mean, the guy's been gone gone. Like, gone gone.

Now, I'm not one to spread rumors, but have you heard the whispers? The ones that say Toby might be... gasp... dead? I know, I know, it's a tough pill to swallow. But let's dive in, shall we?

Toby's Disappearance: A Timeline

Remember when Toby was last seen? It was in the Season 4 finale, "Strangers." He was on a plane, heading to a job interview, and then... poof! Gone. No word from him, no call, no text. It's like he fell off the face of the earth. Now, I don't know about you, but when someone I care about disappears like that, my mind starts wandering to some pretty dark places.

And let's not forget the clues. Or should I say, the lack of clues. The showrunners have been suspiciously tight-lipped about Toby's whereabouts. No hints, no Easter eggs, nothing. It's like they're daring us to put the pieces together. And you know what? I love a good mystery. Don't you?

But Why Would They Kill Off Toby?

Now, before you start throwing popcorn at your screen (hey, I'm not judging, I've been there), let's consider the possibility that Toby might not be coming back. I mean, it's not like the show has shied away from killing off characters before. Remember Jack? Sob!

But why Toby? Well, let's think about it. Toby's character has been through a lot. He's struggled with mental health issues, he's had a heart attack, he's even lost a significant amount of weight (kudos to Chris Sullivan for that transformation!). Maybe, just maybe, the writers thought it was time to give Toby a break. A permanent one.

Or maybe, and I'm just throwing this out there, maybe Toby's death is going to be a major plot twist. Maybe it's going to be a catalyst for something bigger. Maybe it's going to make us cry so hard, we'll run out of tissues and have to use our sleeves. (Hey, it's happened to the best of us.)

So, Is Toby Dead?

Alright, let's cut to the chase. Is Toby dead? I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but the truth is, I don't know. And neither does anyone else. Not even the cast. They've all been sworn to secrecy. But you know what? That's what makes this so much fun. The guessing, the speculating, the theorizing. It's half the joy of watching a show like This Is Us.

So, what do you think? Is Toby dead? Or is he just... away? Let me know in the comments. I'm always up for a good debate. Just remember, no spoilers! We don't want to ruin the surprise for the rest of us.

Until next time, my fellow Pearson fans. Keep those tissues handy. We never know when a good cry is coming our way.
