I Saw The Master This Morning Lyrics

So, there I was, bleary-eyed and yawning, stumbling into the kitchen this morning. I'd overslept, the sun was already blazing through the window, and my coffee maker was staring at me like it had a personal grudge. I mean, really, it's just a machine, right? But there it was, judging me with its little LED light.

Anyway, as I was fumbling around, trying to remember if I'd bought coffee or if I was just dreaming about it, I heard it. A melody, soft and haunting, wafting in from the open window. I paused, mid-fumble, and listened. It was I Saw The Master This Morning, the old Bob Dylan tune, but not like I'd ever heard it before. It was raw, soulful, like the singer was pouring their heart out right there in the street.

Bob Dylan's Masterpiece

Now, I'm not one to get all poetic about my morning coffee, but there was something about that song, about that moment, that made me stop and really listen. I mean, it's not like I'd never heard I Saw The Master This Morning before. I've got all of Dylan's albums, I've seen him live (well, once, from the nosebleed section), but this... this was different.

I leaned out the window, coffee forgotten, trying to spot the singer. But all I could see was a guy in a worn-out jacket, sitting on the curb, strumming an old guitar. He didn't look like much, but man, could he sing. I could've listened all day, but duty called. My coffee maker was still glaring at me, and my stomach was starting to grumble.

The Lyrics That Stole My Morning

But as I turned back inside, I couldn't shake the lyrics. They were stuck in my head, looping like a broken record. "I saw the master on the road, I asked him which way to go, he said follow your heart, it will lead you where you need to go." Simple, right? But there was something about the way this guy was singing it, something that made me stop and think.

I mean, we've all heard the phrase "follow your heart," but how often do we actually do it? We get caught up in routines, in what we think we should do, in what other people expect of us. But what if we just... followed our hearts? What if we listened to that little voice inside us that knows what we really want, what we really need?

I know, I know, I'm getting all philosophical now. It's just coffee, it's just a song, right? But there was something about that moment, about those lyrics, that felt... significant. Like maybe, just maybe, I was meant to hear them. Maybe they were a little nudge, a little reminder to stop and think about what I really want out of life.

So, What's The Point?

I don't know about you, but I could use more of those nudges. More moments that make me stop and think, that make me question, that make me feel. So, I'm making a promise to myself. I'm going to try to listen more, to follow my heart more, to live more. And I'm going to start by finding that guy on the street and thanking him for the best wake-up call I've ever had.

And who knows? Maybe, just maybe, I'll find my own song to sing, my own heart to follow. Maybe I'll find my own way to make someone else's morning a little brighter. But for now, I've got some coffee to make and a heart to listen to. Thanks, Bob. Thanks, mysterious street singer. You've given me a lot to think about.
