I Eat 900 Calories A Day

So, I've been on this calorie-counting kick lately, right? You know, the whole "eat less, move more" thing. Well, I've whittled it down to a neat little number: 900 calories a day. I know, I know, you're thinking, "Girl, have you lost your mind?" But hear me out, yeah?

Why 900, you ask?

Well, first off, it's not as crazy as it sounds. I mean, think about it - a Big Mac's got like, 550 calories. So, I'm basically saying no to two of those bad boys. Not that I'm judging, I've had my share of late-night McFlurries.

Anyway, back to the point. I'm 5'3", and I've got this little metabolism that's about as fast as a snail on a Sunday. So, my doctor said, "Hey, try 900 calories, see how it goes." And you know what? It's been... interesting.

Breakfast: The Most Important Meal of the Day

I'm not one of those people who can skip breakfast. I mean, who even are you? So, I've got to make my calories count. I'm talking Greek yogurt with berries, a sprinkle of granola, and a drizzle of honey. It's like a party in my mouth, and everyone's invited. Except calories. They're not invited.

Oh, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. Don't tell me you're one of those "I can't have caffeine" people. We can't be friends.

Lunch: The Struggle is Real

Lunch is tough. I mean, it's like the middle child of meals. No one really pays attention to it. But here I am, trying to make it work. Salads are my BFF now. I'm talking spinach, kale, a few cherry tomatoes, some cucumber, and a hard-boiled egg. It's like a party in a bowl, and again, calories aren't invited.

Oh, and I've discovered this amazing thing called "avocado toast." I know, I know, I'm late to the party. But listen, it's like God's gift to low-calorie dieters. A slice of whole grain bread, a mashed avocado, a sprinkle of salt, and boom. Lunch is served.

Dinner: The Calorie Countdown

Dinner's a challenge. I'm usually down to my last 200 calories or so. But I've found this amazing thing called "zoodles." You know, zucchini noodles. They're like, what, 20 calories a serving? I can live with that. Toss them in some marinara, add a little grilled chicken, and voila! Dinner is served.

And yeah, I might have a little dark chocolate for dessert. Don't judge me. A girl's gotta have her vices, right?

Snacks: The Wild Card

Snacks are the wild card. Some days, I'm starving by 3 PM, and I've got to make a tough decision. Do I go for the apple or the carrot sticks? It's like a low-calorie game of Russian roulette. But hey, at least I'm eating something, right?

Oh, and I've discovered this amazing thing called "air-popped popcorn." It's like, what, 30 calories a serving? I can live with that. Plus, it's basically a salad, right? I mean, it's got kernels. Same thing.

Hydration Station

You know what's not on the calorie count? Water. So, I've been drinking like a fish. I've got this water bottle that's like, 32 ounces or something. I fill it up in the morning, and by the end of the day, it's empty. It's like my own personal hydration challenge.

And yeah, I might have a LaCroix or two. Don't judge me. A girl's gotta have her bubbles, right?

So, What's the Verdict?

You know, it's not so bad. I mean, sure, I'm hungry sometimes. But I'm also losing weight, and I feel good. I've got more energy, I'm sleeping better, and I'm not constantly reaching for the nearest bag of chips. Plus, I've discovered some amazing new foods. Like, who knew you could do so much with a zucchini?

But hey, it's not for everyone. I mean, my boyfriend looks at me like I'm crazy when I'm counting out my almonds. But hey, to each their own, right?

So, there you have it. My life in 900 calories. It's not so bad, really. I mean, sure, I could go for a burger right about now. But hey, there's always tomorrow. Or the day after. Or the day after that.
