How Long Did Johnny Manziel Play In The Nfl

Alright, gather 'round, sports fans! You know Johnny Manziel, right? The guy who was all over the news, then poof! Vanished like a magician's trick. So, how long did this enigma of a quarterback actually play in the NFL? Let's dive in!

From College Sensation to NFL Hopeful

First things first, Johnny Football, as he was known in college, was a sensation at Texas A&M. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2012, becoming the first freshman to do so. The Cleveland Browns, with stars in their eyes, took him 22nd overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. They thought they'd found their next big thing.

His NFL Debut: A Mixed Bag

Manziel's first game was a mixed bag. He threw for 182 yards, but also had two interceptions. It was a promising start, but it was just the beginning of a rollercoaster ride.

His first season was... well, let's just say it wasn't what the Browns had hoped for. He started eight games, but the team finished 7-9. Not exactly Super Bowl material.

Trouble in Cleaveland

Off the field, things weren't much better. Manziel's partying ways made headlines, and his relationship with the Browns' coaching staff seemed strained. It was a recipe for disaster, and it didn't take long for the Browns to pull the plug.

In 2016, just two years after drafting him, the Browns cut Manziel. His NFL career, it seemed, was over before it had really begun.

But Wait, There's More!

But hold on, folks! This isn't one of those sad, predictable stories. Johnny Manziel wasn't ready to hang up his cleats just yet.

He spent the next few years in the Canadian Football League (CFL), playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He even won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award in 2018. Not bad for a guy who was supposed to be a bust!

Back to the NFL: A Brief Reappearance

In 2019, the NFL gave Manziel another shot. The Miami Dolphins signed him to their practice squad. But it was short-lived. He was released just a few months later.

So, how long did Johnny Manziel play in the NFL? Well, if we're counting just the regular season games, it's a mere 14 games. But if you include his brief stints on practice squads, it's a little over two seasons.

Why Johnny Manziel's Story is Just Fun

Why is this story so fun? Because it's a wild ride, that's why! From college sensation to NFL bust to CFL comeback kid, Johnny Manziel's career has been anything but boring. And who knows? Maybe one day he'll make another surprise appearance in the NFL. After all, in the world of sports, stranger things have happened.

So, there you have it, folks! The tale of Johnny Manziel's NFL career. It might not have been long, but it sure was memorable. Until next time, sports fans!
