Who Are These Folks?

Defiance Ohio, hailing from the land of cornfields and cows, AKA Ohio, is a band that's been around since the early 2000s. They're like a musical box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. One minute they're belting out punk rock anthems, the next they're crooning sweet folk tunes. Talk about a musical identity crisis, right?

But here's the thing, they make it work. They're like that friend who can rock a leather jacket one day and a floral dress the next. It's all about the confidence, baby!

This Time This Year: The Album That's Like a Box of Crayons

Now, let's talk about their album, 'This Time This Year'. It's like a box of crayons, all different colors, and you never know which one you're gonna pick. One minute you're jamming to 'The Future's in the Future', the next you're swaying to 'The Last Song'. It's a musical rollercoaster, and it's awesome!

And the lyrics? Oh boy, they're like poetry written on the back of a napkin. Quirky, heartfelt, and sometimes a little confusing. But that's what makes Defiance Ohio, well, Defiance Ohio. They're not afraid to be different, and that's what makes them so darn lovable.

Fun Facts: Because Who Doesn't Love a Good Trivia?

Did you know that Defiance Ohio's name comes from a town in Ohio? Yep, they're as Midwestern as apple pie. But don't let that fool you, these folks are anything but ordinary.

And get this, their album 'The Great Depression' was recorded in a single day. That's right, one day! Talk about a productive day in the studio. I mean, I can't even decide on what to have for lunch in a day, let alone record an entire album.

Oh, and here's a fun one, the band's lead singer, Ryan Allen, also runs a record label called Polyvinyl Records. Talk about a multitasker! He's like the musical equivalent of a superhero, fighting the good fight for indie music.

So, Why Should You Care?

Well, because life's too short to listen to the same old stuff, that's why! Defiance Ohio is like that weird, wonderful friend who makes you see the world from a different perspective. They're not afraid to be different, and that's something we could all use a little more of.
