Bela Bajaria’s Biggest Shows: The Netflix Executive Who Greenlit Global Hits

Meet Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Secret Weapon

Ever binge-watched Squid Game, Bridgerton, or The Queen's Gambit? You've got Bela Bajaria to thank for that! This powerhouse Netflix exec is the mastermind behind some of the streaming giant's biggest global hits.

From Humble Beginnings to Hollywood

Bela wasn't always a bigwig in the entertainment industry. She started her career as a production assistant, working her way up the ladder. Born in India and raised in Canada, she brings a unique global perspective to her job. Isn't it awesome how one person's journey can impact our TV screens?

Bela's rise to the top is a testament to her passion and dedication. She's not just another suit in the boardroom; she's a storyteller at heart. And that's what makes her so darn good at her job.

Greenlighting Global Hits

As Vice President of Global TV at Netflix, Bela has the power to make or break a show. But she doesn't take that responsibility lightly. She's all about finding stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. That's how we ended up with a South Korean survival drama that had everyone on the edge of their seats!

Bela's not afraid to take risks either. She saw the potential in a period drama based on Julia Quinn's novels, even when others might have dismissed it as too niche. The result? Bridgerton became a cultural phenomenon, with people everywhere fanning themselves over Regency-era romance.

She's also a big believer in giving creators the freedom to tell their stories. It's no wonder Netflix has become a hub for innovative, boundary-pushing content.
