15 Years At The Same Company

So, I've been at the same company for 15 years now. I know, I know, it's like I've been here since the dinosaurs roamed the Earth. But hey, someone's gotta keep the coffee pot full, right?

Back in the Day

Remember when I started? We had these massive desktop computers that weighed as much as a small car. And the internet? It was like the Wild West out there. I swear, I once saw a website that was just a GIF of a dancing banana. Good times.

I was fresh out of college, eager to take on the world, or at least the marketing department. I had a degree, a dream, and a wardrobe full of ill-advised ties. I was ready to conquer.

Growing Pains

Over the years, I've seen the company change. We've gone from a small, close-knit team to a sprawling, multinational corporation. I've seen offices come and go, like a real-life game of musical chairs. I've even seen a few CEOs come and go. I like to think I've aged like fine wine, but let's be real, it's more like I've aged like a forgotten yogurt in the back of the fridge.

I've had my fair share of ups and downs. There was that time I accidentally sent an email to the entire company about my lunch plans. I still maintain that 'Taco Tuesday' was a legitimate business meeting. And who could forget the great office move of 2010? We lost half the staff in the shuffle, but hey, at least we found a new home for the office plant.

Stick a Fork in Me, I'm Done

But after 15 years, you might be wondering why I'm still here. Well, it's not for the free coffee, that's for sure. I mean, don't get me wrong, the coffee's great, but it's not that great.

The truth is, I've stayed because of the people. I've watched colleagues get married, have kids, buy houses. I've been there for promotions, retirements, and even a few surprise parties. We've laughed together, cried together, and eaten way too much cake together. This place has become more than just a job. It's a family. A slightly dysfunctional, slightly crazy, but always lovable family.

Here's to the Next 15

So, here's to the next 15 years. May they be filled with more laughter than tears, more triumphs than tragedies, and maybe, just maybe, a few less ill-advised ties. And who knows? Maybe by then, we'll finally figure out what to do with that office plant.

Until then, I'll be here, keeping the coffee pot full, one cup at a time. Because after all, every great adventure starts with a good cup of coffee. Or something like that.
