If you live or drive in southern Dallas County or northern Ellis County, you know that traveling through the area can be a challenge. Interstate 20, the closest east-west freeway, lies miles to the north. Existing arterials like Bear Creek Rd. and Belt Line Rd. have become congested over the years and are getting worse as the area adds residential, commercial, and industrial development. More people living, shopping and working in the area means more vehicles on the roads. Heavy truck traffic from bustling inter-modal freight facilities nearby and NAFTA international freight movement add even more pressure on the area's transportation system.
Your participation is needed. Decisions made during the study process will affect area transportation for decades to come. Visit this website to get project updates, send comments, check the schedule of public meetings, and view study maps and reports.
Visit the Project Information page about the Environmental Process, which is currently going on.
